A Word from the Editor
Wow, it has been an amazing first month here at Heritage! We are well over half full and have met some of the most interesting people in the form of our new dealers and customers!
If you have not wandered the store yet, make sure to take a look around! There are some of the most fabulous pieces of history all over the store.
In booth number 25, there is a beautiful area rug that is a hand knotted Persian. According to the Carpet Encyclopedia, “The art of making carpets was probably developed on the plains of Central Asia about a thousand years ago. The nomads needed some protection from the cold winters, something more easily handled than the sheepskin coverings. At the same time they were also making decorations for their tents. The materials used for the warp, weft and pile came from the herds of goats and flock of sheep.” Read more
